HSE Policy
The Management of GIZA POWER TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION holds high regard the safety, welfare and health of its employees and public. We firmly believe that every employee is entitled to work under safest possible conditions. We have the responsibility not to endanger the environment due to our operations and we shall do our best to preserve it to the possible extent. In order to achieve our aims, we will:
- Provide appropriate resources to effectively manage safety and health risks through the lifecycle of the organization and the projects we manage
- Establish SMART annual safety and health performance targets and objectives which will build on the previous years' performance. Periodically monitor and review these targets and objectives to demonstrate continual improvement
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and manage occupational safety and health hazards and their associated risks at an acceptable level and as low as reasonably practicable
- Take necessary actions for enhancement of health and wellbeing of the employees and contractors
- Implement an audit program to proactively assess the suitability and implementation of our occupational safety health management system
- Investigate all non-conformances, near misses and incidents to establish the immediate and underlying causes so that recurrence can be prevented
- Share lessons learnt with our own workforce and contractor management
- Develop and maintain a positive safety and health culture where employees share management's commitment to OHS, and understand and take ownership of safety and health risks
- Ensure employees receive safety and health training which is appropriate to their risks and responsibilities.
- Select contractors, vendors and business partners who share our commitment, can demonstrate compliance with GIZA POWER Transmission & Distribution safety and health management expectations and can demonstrate continual improvement in performance
- Regularly review this policy to ensure it remains relevant to GIZA POWER Transmission & Distribution' s aims and visions.
- Communicate this occupational safety and health policy to all stakeholders, contractors, visitors and employees of GIZA POWER Transmission & Distribution.
